Gattu (Akshay Kumar) is the son of Gurtej, a Sikh living in Engalnd who has been the target of racist attacks. Because of these attacks, Gattu is not allowed to play for the England cricket team. When his girlfriend convinces him to give it a shot, he starts playing cricket but his family manages to hide it from his disapproving father. What happens when Gurtej finds out Gattu's secret is the story of Patiala House.
