Navni Parihar who returns to television after a gap of six years believes that no other role could have made her return than that of Rano. Navni, who will be seen on COLORS new show Bani – Ishq Da Kalma said, “When I heard the script for the first time, something connected me to Rano and I had tears in my eyes. It was such a compelling character that I wanted to understand and play it. I had heard and read so many cases about abandoned NRI brides so when I was offered this role, I could not think of a better come back than playing Rano. Her story touched my heart and moved me completely. She will always be remembered, every woman in the country will connect with her situation.”
Navni Parihar believes in staying true to her character. She has donned a completely de-glamorous look for the show with no makeup at all which we were told was her choice. She confides, “The minute I step into Rano’s character and outfit, I become a completely different person. I do not use glycerin for any of the scenes as I get teary-eyed when I remember her pain.”
She believes in looking natural on screen as she considers it’s her duty to bring alive and showcase Rano’s state to the audiences as part of the show. Also after receiving some great feedback on the promos, Navni is convinced in doing complete justice to her role and cannot wait to narrate Rano’s story to the audiences.
Bani is a show inspired by true stories which will showcase the fate of the thousands of young girls from Punjab who have been enticed into NRI dreams by their parents and are still waiting for their husbands to return and take them back.
