Shibani Dandekar is very popular amongst the crazy cricket followers across the world. She is highly appreciated for her performance as an anchor and singer and has a huge fan base. I got a chance to meet her during Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa shoot and guess what? First thing she asked me was, “Are you going to talk to me in Hindi?” Our Marathi mulgi, who is fluent in her mother tongue, finds it really difficult to talk in Hindi. As soon as I told her that the interview is going to be in English, she gave me a high-five and took me to her dressing room. My photographer was amused too, as she gladly posed for him and asked him if he wanted to click more pictures!

I asked the first obvious question, “How did Jhalak happen?” to which she was very prompt and answered, “Oh! It was on my wish list,” she exclaimed! “My manager and I were actually thinking about something like Jhalak, where I could show a different side of my personality to my fans.” Shibani, who looks stunning in the Jhalak Promos looked as beautiful and sensational off the screen. Rolling the conversation forward, I asked about her professional equation with Puneet, her dancing partner and choreographer. She threw the chewing gum that she had been chewing for a while in the dustbin and continued, “Oh Puneet! He is a fantastic dancer! He understands that although I have been a dancer, there has been a very long gap. He trains me accordingly and also makes sure that I do not over exert myself.” When asked about the progress, she confidently said, “We are doing quite good right now, a little more practice and we’ll rock the dance floor.” Adding on she said, “By the way he not only training me in Dancing but also helping me improve my Hindi.” Having said that, she gave some striking poses to my photographer and signed off.
Looking at her hard slog in both dancing court and Hindi pathshaala, we wish she reaches the finals and delivers a thank you speech in Hindi in the grand finale.
